Terms & conditions 

Set out below are the terms on which The Beauty Coach UK provides service to its clients. Please ensure that you have read and fully understood them prior to booking any appointments, buy products, enter any competitions or subscribe to anything on the website.

1. Deposit and Cancellation Policy

  • ​Booking a consultation:We take a fully refundable deposit of £10/£25/£50* for all our consultations including those that are free of charge. Should you need to cancel or reschedule we kindly ask that you call us 48 hours before your appointment.  Failure to give the full notice will result in the deposit being taken by The Beauty Coach UK.  This allows us to manage our diaries and offer the appointment time to another client. Your deposit can be used against purchase of any product.

  • Makeup consultations/appointments/workshops should take place after a Skin Care consultation.

  • Booking appointments off a pre-paid value pack:-Should you need to cancel or reschedule we kindly ask that you call us no later than 48 hours before your appointment. Failure to give the full notice will result in the treatment being redeemed by The Beauty Coach UK.  This allows us to manage our diaries and offer the appointment time to another client.

2. Bridal Services

  • Booking Bridal Services: Your makeup artist will be at your services for a skin care consultation, a makeup colour consultation, a top-to-toe spa experience for the bridal party, a bridal makeup trial and then your bridal makeup. Please make sure you communicate any sensitivities or allergies, including latex if you’re using false lashes. You agree to book your first appointment at 6 months, but no later than 4 months, before your wedding day and follow the advice of a suggested skin care routine as recommended by your makeup artist.

  • Additional Bridal Contracted Services Per Person: You may add people at any time up to the wedding date, if time allows for the makeup artist. You may subtract people up to 2 weeks of the wedding date. After that 50% of their services will be due and if you cancel within 48 hours of your wedding date, then 100% of the fees is due. 

  • Bridal Deposit: £ 60 non-refundable deposit and completed contract is required to reserve and hold the date. Deposits can be paid by Bank Transfer to HSBC Sort Code: 40-45-27 Account: 51513834 to Mrs N Smith and completed, signed & dated contract can be mailed to nicolette@thebeautycoach.co.uk or post to:

  • Bridal Contracted Date: You may cancel this contract at any time up to 2 weeks before the date of service and only loose your deposit. After that, you will be charged 50% of the quoted rate. If you cancel within 48hrs prior to service date, you will be charged 100% of the quoted rate. This contract is non-negotiable. 

  • Gratuity is at your discretion. 

  • Payment in full (cash, bank transfer or chip & pin) is expected on the date of services provided: 

3. Appointments and cancellations

  • All beauticians at The Beauty Coach UK are trained and approved in accordance with the company’s treatment protocols and therefore The Beauty Coach does not guarantee continued treatment with a named therapist.

  • If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact us immediately on 07734 290553. We will need to know that you wish to cancel 48 hours before your appointment is due. Failure to cancel or rearrange at least 48 hours before your appointment will result in the loss of the treatment from your value pack or deposit being redeemed.

  • Please arrive for your appointment at least 15 minutes in advance so that the necessary paperwork can be completed. Late arrival may result in reduced treatment time or forfeiting of the appointment. The Beauty Coach will endeavour to ensure that your appointment runs to time; however, should we need to cancel or postpone your appointment at short notice, we will make every effort to contact you in advance.

  • Prior to your appointment we will inform you of any preparation required in advance of your treatment. Failure to follow the guide lines may result in cancellation of your appointment, reduced treatment time, or additional fees being charged.

  • Any client who requires treatment and brings a child with them must also be accompanied by another adult to chaperone the child whilst the client is being treated. Failure to bring an adult chaperone with any child will result in the treatment being cancelled and loss of the value pack treatment or deposit. No children under the age of 16 years must be left unattended within the business at any time.

4. Credit card details, deposits and payments

  • To secure an appointment with The Beauty Coach UK a deposit is required.

  • For an appointment for Brides: a deposit of £50 will be charged at the time of booking, in order to secure the appointment.

  • For an appointment for Makeup: a deposit of £25 will be charged at the time of booking, in order to secure the appointment.

  • For any individual treatments a deposit of £10 will be charged and for any subsequent individual treatments a deposit of £10 will be charged at the time of booking. Deposits can be used towards payment for products or left on your account for future appointments or product purchases. Should deposits remain unclaimed by the client following twelve months of inactivity The Beauty Coach reserves the right to withhold the deposit.

  • These charges will not be applied to clients booking an appointment from their existing value package or beauty plans.

  • Prices may vary. Please refer to the price list on the website for your chosen appointment or contact The Beauty Coach UK for the price list.

5. Courses of appointments

  • All appointments purchased as a course must be paid for in full in advance of the first treatment or via the payment plans offered on our website. All appointments must be taken within 12 months of the date of purchase; any appointments left untaken after 12 months will be forfeited. 

  • Value packs are only refundable for medical reasons. Any refund agreed is calculated by deducting the full list price of all appointments already taken, plus any charged for non-attendance, from the total price of the course of appointments, with the difference returned to you.

6. Treatment suitability

  • We will always assess whether products used are suitable for you, or likely to be successful, prior to any application being carried out. If not, we will inform you as to the reasons why. You will only be liable for the cost of the initial consultation, where applicable.

7. Liability

  • The Beauty Coach UK will not be liable in contract, tort or otherwise for any economic loss (including, without limitation, loss of profit), or for any other special, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of, or in connection with, its provision of any goods and/or services to the client.

  • It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that he or she provide The Beauty Coach UK with all relevant medical details prior to each treatment. The Beauty Coach UK will not be liable for any damage that occurs as a result of the client’s failure to disclose such details.

  • The client agrees to comply with all instructions and/or recommendations given to them by, or on behalf of, The Beauty Coach UK regarding the care of a treated area. Nothing in these terms of business shall exclude or limit The Beauty Coach UK’s liability for death or any personal injury resulting from The Beauty Coach UK’s negligence.

  • Where appropriate claims may be settled agains The Beauty Coach UK's Liability Insurance. 

8.  Your right to complain

  • The Beauty Coach UK endeavours to treat all its clients appropriately, compassionately and fairly. If however, you have an issue with any matter in relation to your treatment at The Beauty Coach UK you are entitled to lodge a complaint, either in person, by telephone or in writing. If you require assistance with making your complaint, The Beauty Coach UK will be pleased to help and support you through the process.

  • The member of staff who initially receives the complaint will convey the details to the Manager or their designated deputy. Where this cannot be resolved immediately, you will receive a letter within three working days to confirm that an investigation into the matter is underway and that a response will be made as soon as possible.

  • Complaints of a non-medical nature will be handled in their entirety by the Manager.

  • If your complaint is treatment related the matter will be discussed with the relevant practitioner and may require you to attend an additional consultation with that practitioner or an alternative member of the team, including the Manager. The objective of this is to provide an explanation or a solution to your concerns. The Beauty Coach UK aims to furnish you with a full written response within 20 working days or where this is not possible, an explanation as to the cause of the delay.

  • Complainants who are not happy with the local resolution are referred to the Director of the team or referred to the National Support Office. The complaint will be further reviewed within 20 working days and you will be provided with a final written response. If the investigation requires further time, you will be provided with an explanation as to the cause of the delay.

9. £25 off vouchers in products

  • Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.

  • Applicable to new and existing clients.

  • Cannot be used against treatments or consultations.

  • One voucher per person.

  • The voucher should be surrendered upon purchase of the products.

  • Offer applies to single transactions with minimum spend of £100.

  • Offer can only be used on product purchases.

  • Offer is subject to patient suitability for products.

  • Voucher is non transferrable and cannot be exchanged for money.

10. 10% discount for NHS, Fire Service, Police employees, Forces employees & Teachers

  • 10% discount applicable to a single appointment or product order.

  • Can not be used against a series of consultations or treatments.

  • Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.

  • Proof of employment required i.e. valid employment card/recent pay slip and valid photo identification if not on employment card.

  • Validation required when treatment purchased.

  • Offer available to new and existing clients.

11. ​20% discount for students

  • Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.

  • Discount applicable to product purchases only.

  • Minimum spend £75.

  • Offer is subject to full consultation and suitability for products.

  • Valid STUDENT card to be shown when purchasing.

  • The Beauty Coach UK reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

12. Competitions

  • Entry does not guarantee a win.

  • Prices are not up for discussion and at the discretion of The Beauty Coach UK.

  • Prices can not be exchanged for cash.

  • Entry implies permission to be contacted by The Beauty Coach UK and to be added to the contact database of The Beauty Coach UK. 

  • Entrants can unsubscribe from communications at any time.

  • Entrants can request their data to be removed from the database at any time.

13. Satisfaction Guarantee

  • Products purchased from The Beauty Coach UK are backed by a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. 

  • The Beauty Coach UK and Mary Kay Cosmetics (UK) Ltd stands behind its products sold by its Independent Beauty Consultants in the UK.

  • If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with any Mary Kay product, it will be replaced, exchanged or the full purchase price refunded following its return to the authorised Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant at The Beauty Coach UK. This guarantee is of indefinite duration and does not affect your statutory rights.

  • The Beauty Coach UK is just a phone call away. For reorders or exercise of guarantee, notify your Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant or,

  • If your The Beauty Coach UK is no longer associated with Mary Kay, please return the goods along with your Sales Receipt to the Customer Services Department at: Mary Kay Cosmetics (UK) Ltd, 163 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1BU, Telephone: 0207 380 8200.

  • Please note that the Company is unable to make refunds unless the Sales Receipt Returns form is fully completed by the authorised Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, The Beauty Coach UK.

  • This Sales Receipt confirms your contract to buy products from the Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant identified overleaf as Nicolette Smith trading as The Beauty Coach UK.

  • Delivery will normally be within 30 days or less of your order.


  • In the event of a complaint or dispute, please contact Customer Service at the address noted above.

  • Any consumer who is still not satisfied may contact the Direct Selling Association, which operates a dispute resolution service. For details, contact DSA, 30 Billing Road, Northhampton NN1 5DQ, Tel: 01604 625700 or visit www.dsa.org.uk.

14. Receipt of Products


  • By law, the products you receive must correspond with their description and any sample by reference to which they were ordered. They must also be of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for their intended purpose.

  • You may cancel your contract at any time up to 14 days after delivery of the goods. To do so, you must state explicitly (e.g., via letter or email) your decision to cancel, and your decision should be communicated to your Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant (Nicolette Smith at The Beauty Coach UK). If posted or emailed, your notice of cancellation takes effect when posted or sent. You may use the cancellation form on your Sales Receipt, but you are not required to do so.

  • Provided that any goods that you have received under the cancelled contract are returned (at your own expense) complete and in good condition to Nicolette Smith, your Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, at The Beauty Coach UK, within 14 days of your cancellation, you will be entitled to a full refund of your purchase price using the same method of payment you used for the original transaction. You will incur no fees for the reimbursement; however, the reimbursement may be refused until the goods are returned or you provide evidence for returning them, whichever occurs earlier.
