My approach to wedding makeup is slightly different.
I won't charge more for doing your makeup just because you're the bride. Why would a bride have to pay more?
I charge a flat fee of £60 per face made up, because I have to do the exact same work on a bride as I do on anyone else who gets their makeup done by me. So whether you’re the Mother of the bride, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Groom or a wedding guest, you all pay the same to have your makeup done. As a bride you get a trial, which is included in the bride’s price, hence it is 2 full face applications, so 2 x £60 and you actually get a lot of free hours of time with me as well.
You will have a total of 4 to 6 appointments with me over the course of 3 to 6 months. Each appointment will be between 1 to 2 hours.
Your first appointment with me will be a skin care consultation.
If you book your bridesmaids and mother, perhaps your partner's mother as well, then we will all get together and talk skin care.
We'll make it a pre-bridal pamper party!
You all get to use Mary Kay products that I bring and we go through a good practice skin care routine, so you all can have the best skin on the day of your wedding.
This initial consultation will ideally take place 3-4 months before your wedding date, because that’s the amount of time it takes to get your skin in the most optimum condition. If your skin is already perfect we can get away with a shorter time frame.
As an extra you get a top-to-toe spa party for the entire bridal party, included in the package, we do this about 2-3 months before the big day. This will help you all relax, your skin will get pampered, not just your face, but your hands and feet too.
About 2 months before your wedding you have your 3rd appointment. We will start looking at styles and colours. You should have an idea of general colours and theme for your wedding by then, so we can then create looks that go with your theme.
This can be a one to one consultation or it can be with the whole bridal party. It’s helpful if you have a group booking so everyone is on the same page about what colours will be used on the day, so you don’t get any clashes.
Your 4th appointment will be your trial can take place any time from this consultation up to 4 weeks before the wedding.
If we need to we can do another session with a minimum of 2 weeks before the big day and we can make adjustments if needed.
Ideally you don’t make changes within those last 4 weeks, so we minimise the chance of breakouts and your skin stays in the same condition as we worked towards in the months before.
Then on your wedding day we will all be prepared and relaxed, ready to enjoy the experience and make memories. You can opt to buy products from me to carry with you on the day (lipstick, beauty blotters, anything to touch up if you need to) or you can borrow products if you need to. It is nice to have that same lipstick to use after your wedding though, so bare this in mind. Pre-wedding and post-wedding photography makeup is extra, but at the same flat rate. Travel expenses will apply when the distance is over 20 miles between my home and venue.
